It is that time of year when traditionally we extend seasons greetings and Christmas wishes to everybody. This year we are spoilt for choice with events locally to attend.

With us facilitating so many community groups and being engaged with so many other different organisations it is impossible to attend every Christmas dinner or event.

We did pop in and see Mens Shed at The North Wales bowling centre after their meal on Tuesday.  Frank’s funeral is on Monday, we hope his family get through the festive season . Naturally we will be raising a glass to him on Monday.

Whilst our own community groups are enjoying themselves it will be great to see the rest of our town enjoying the traditional Christmas in Prestatyn event at the lovely vicarage gardens just off the fantastic high st.

Organised by Rachael from Prestatyn Town Council it will be another great great. We have been involved in some great ones over the past 6 or 7 years including the recent fantastic Halloween event.

Visitors will also have the chance to hear another of our friends Jess perform as half of Jass and Kat a fantastic vocal duo.

A Dementia Friendly Christmas

Dementia Friendly Christmas

Dementia can cause a lot of changes in your life – including how you celebrate Christmas. We wanted to hear from people with dementia to find out how they experienced the festive season.

The members of Ashford Dementia Support Group got together to talk about the very real difficulties that they can face at Christmastime: from the noise and confusion of parties, to feelings of exclusion during the festive preparations.

Using their words, the  Alzheimer’s Society created a short animated poem to get that vital message across.
